UTHM Engineering Students Visit ProEight Manufacturing Facility

On June 11th, 2024, ProEight hosted a visit and factory tour for a group of promising students from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM). These students, enrolled in the Bachelor of Technology in Oil and Gas Plant Operation with Honour (BDG) program under the Faculty of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering (FKMP), were eager to gain valuable industry exposure.
The visit aimed to give the students a comprehensive understanding of the exciting world that awaits them upon graduation. ProEight CEO, Ir. Azhar Zainal Abidin, kicked off the event with an inspiring presentation. He delved into ProEight’s remarkable journey, from humble beginnings to its current position as a prominent player in the industry. He highlighted ProEight’s impressive project portfolio while emphasizing the importance of their experienced staff and ongoing R&D for their success. ProEight’s success stems from its commitment to attracting experienced personnel and fostering a culture of continuous R&D.
ProEight ensured the experience went beyond a simple lecture. The CEO and departmental staff actively engaged with the students, fostering an interactive environment. Its to ensure the students gained a deeper understanding of ProEight through insightful presentations and open discussions. The students were introduced to each Engineering Departments within ProEight which carried crucial roles in leading the company to success. This engagement allowed the students to grasp the significance of each department’s contribution to the bigger picture.
This visit serves as a stepping stone for future collaboration between FKMP, UTHM, and ProEight. This collaborative effort will be mutually beneficial. ProEight looks forward to prioritizing UTHM students by opportunities to conduct final year project research within the company. Additionally, ProEight will provide industrial training placements, empowering these young talents to gain practical experience and develop their careers within the industry. By fostering this collaboration, ProEight hopes to empower the next generation of industry leaders and contribute to a brighter future for the oil and gas sector.
